At the meeting of the Board of the University of Banja Luka, at which the director of the Students’ centre ‘Nikola Tesla’, Mr. Zoran Babic, was also present, the joint activities of these two entities were discussed aimed at supporting the students of the University using the accommodation facilities who come from flood- affected areas and whose family property was destroyed.

At the meeting, it was agreed that accommodation and food should be free of charge for these students for the next two months, i.e. until the end of summer semester in July. The University is going to participate in financing these expenditures together with the Students’ Centre.

In the meantime, the services of the Students’ Centre in charge of accommodation issues are going to provide reliable information on the students who need this kind of help. According to the preliminary information, there could be between 200 and 250 of such students.

Another topic discussed at the meeting was the support of the Students’ Centre to the students of the University of Banja Luka who, organized in student brigades, are engaged in cleaning public buildings in the flooded areas of the Republic of Srpska. After the Head of the University Headquarters for assistance and coordination , Vice-Rector Prof. Drasko Marinkovic, informed him on the needs of students volunteers, the director of the Students’ Centre promised that that institution would provide lunch packages for them and give them permission to use the laundry service for free in order to wash the working clothes.
